Torque Drift 2 adds new Mazda and Toyota models in latest update

Grease Monkey Games announced today that it’s launching Update 10 for its early access racing title Torque Drift 2. The new update adds a number of new gameplay features, including new cars, a new track and performance parts tuning for its customizable vehicles. At the time of this update, Torque Drift 2 — which is available on PC via the Epic Games Store — accrued around 400,000 downloads.

Update 10 adds the Toyota AE86 (featured in the anime Initial D) and the Mazda RX3, along with the Daikoku track in Japan and Pro Car Bundles featuring vehicles from professional drifters. The update also brings back Lead and Chase challenges from the original Torque Drift, where players have to race to set the best score and then others attempt to beat the highest scorer. Other new features in Update 10 include a scheduler for players to keep track of events and new customization options with performance parts tuning.

Arran Potter, Grease Monkey Games CEO, said in a statement, “With the Update 10, we are bringing the greatest drifting experience to the world. The new Lead and Chase challenges and the addition of the iconic Daikoku track will bring an even more realistic and authentic racing environment and give gamers new ways to drive and customize their cars. Our mission is to provide the most authentic and engaging drifting experience possible.”

Animoca Brands acquired Grease Monkey Games in 2022, along with the Torque franchise. Torque Drift 2 is part of the Motorverse, which uses the REVV token for premium purchases. Players can earn REVV in-game by participating in competitions, and can stake what they earn at the Motorverse Hub for in-game benefits.
